I have opposed the War in Afghanistan from the start. As a delegate to the 2018 California Democratic Convention, I successfully offered an amendment to the party’s platform calling for “ending air strikes in Afghanistan, … a timetable for the withdrawal of all American military forces and military contractors” and opposing “further appropriations for such operations except those necessary for safe and orderly withdrawal of our troops” – described in my article “California Democrats call for an end to seemingly endless Afghanistan War.”
